1. Emergency Room 24

The members of Emergency Room 24 (drama series) must deal with chronic lack of manpower, lack of beds, & lack of doctors. Hospitals now often refuse to accept patients leaving ambulances to search for the next hospital in the vicinity.

Michiko doesn't appear as your typical doctor. She wears shorts and some people assume she is the girlfriend of someone at the hospital. Michiko though is an excellant surgeon.

At the university hospital, Michiko makes objections to the director of the university hospital, who plans to perform a surgery. Michiko points out the director's antiquated surgical methods and the fact that he hasn't performed as a surgeon in many years. Others though are frozen by Michiko's objections. Nobody second guesses the director of the university hospital.

4. Doctor Y

Hideki Kaji (Masanobu Katsumura) is a surgeon, famous for his laparoscopic surgery work. He gets transferred to a hospital in Ibaraki Prefecture from Tokyo. On his first day of work, Hideki Kaji has two patients. One patient is a poor old man named Shigeo Tanami (Toshifumi Muramatsu), who has a serious disease. The other patient is lawmaker's daughter Haruka Mifune (Sakura Miyawaki), who has appendicitis. He has to pick one of them to perform surgery on.

5. Akujotachi no Mesu

Hiyama Fuyumi (Yukie Nakama) is a brain surgeon and considered one of the best in Japan. She is always calm and never smiles. Hiyama Fuyumi has hard worked hard to achieve her current position.

One day, Hiyama Fuyumi applies CPR in a blood filled room in her mansion. Flashback to 3 months prior.

Hiyama Fuyumi applies the latest surgical technique while performing on a patient suffering from an aneurysm. The surgery is a succes, but post-surgery the condition of the patient worsens until the patient dies. Hiyama Fuyumi is now suspected of medical malpractice. Meanwhile, Hiyama Fuyumi, knowing she did not make any mistakes during the surgery, attempts to pull up video of the surgery, but finds the data deleted from the hospital's computer server. A series of other inexplicable cases occurs around Hirayama Fuyumi

6. Dr. Koto Shinryojo

8. Alive: Dr. Kokoro, The Medical Oncologist

Kokoro Onda (Nao Matsushita) is a medical oncologist. She decided to become a doctor to save people. After she graduated from medical school, she began to work in the radiology department. Working there, she saved a cancer patient through diagnostic imaging. This led her to pursue the field of oncology. She transferred to the tumor internal medicine department.


Kokoro Onda is dedicated to her patients. She meets surgeon Kaoru Kajiyama (Yoshino Kimura), who specializes in gastroenterology. Kaoru Kajiyama was recently transferred to the hospital where Kokoro Onda works. The two women begin to work as colleagues and also become friends.
